{"id":6026,"date":"2019-05-07T14:37:32","date_gmt":"2019-05-07T19:37:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.norfolkseniorcenter.org\/?p=6026"},"modified":"2019-05-07T14:37:32","modified_gmt":"2019-05-07T19:37:32","slug":"support-your-norfolk-senior-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.norfolkseniorcenter.org\/2019\/05\/07\/support-your-norfolk-senior-center\/","title":{"rendered":"Support your Norfolk Senior Center"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My best friend lost his mother this past summer.\u00a0 Her name was Mary Kruse.\u00a0 She volunteered and participated at the <strong>Norfolk Senior Center<\/strong> in Norfolk, Nebraska.\u00a0 To honor her life and continue her example, we are going to run the Cowboy Ultra Trail-100 mile solo event.\u00a0 It is our goal to help shine the light on this organization that is a valuable resource for the aging community in Norfolk.\u00a0 The Center is currently <u>raising $75,000<\/u> to help renovate portions of it\u2019s aging building.\u00a0\u00a0 Monetary donations of any size are being accepted at: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.norfolkseniorcenter.org\">www.norfolkseniorcenter.org<\/a> or at their physical address: Norfolk Senior Center, 307 Prospect Ave, Norfolk, Ne 68701.\u00a0 Anne Frisinger is the Executive Director, Ph. (402) 371-8299.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We love the way helping others is making us feel.\u00a0 We used to sit on the sidelines and say \u201cthat sounds like a good idea\u201d but would never take action.\u00a0 Well, we decided to take action and say \u201cYES!\u201d and reached out to them and found a way to help!\u00a0 We took the first step-THE START STOPS most people.\u00a0 We feel that any little bit of encouragement we can give or support that we can get them, will be more than if we had stayed comfortable.\u00a0 We have never ran 100 miles before, but we are willing to try. We know it won\u2019t be easy, but nothing worth doing should be easy!\u00a0 Along our journey, we hope others will IGNITE their own passions and get outside their comfort zones to benefit others.\u00a0 When we get uncomfortable together, that is when we can truly make a difference.\u00a0 We all have a MARY in our lives-We are doing this for her!\u00a0 Who is your Mary?
